Welfare
Welcome to our Welfare Page, here you can find details of our Welfare Team, find out how to report a concern, and find links to policies and useful resources.
Edinburgh Athletic Club is committed to ensuring that we provide a safe and inclusive environment for all our members to participate in athletics. We do not tolerate any kind of abuse, discrimination, bullying, or harassment.
All of our Club Coaches, Officials, and Volunteers are required to have membership of the Protecting Vulnerable Groups (PVG) Scheme and must attend the ‘Child Welfare and Protection in Sport’ course every 3 years. Additionally, all Club members (volunteers, athletes, and parents) must agree to the UKA Code of Conduct upon joining.
We have a dedicated team of Club Welfare Officers (CWOs) who work to ensure that the Club adheres to UKA’s Child and Adult Safeguarding Policies and Procedures. All our CWOs have received specialist CWO training, and have attended additional workshops on mental health, disability, and menopause in sport.
Our Club Welfare Officers can be contacted via the following email: welfare@edinburghac.org.uk
